As a first-year student at West Dean College studying musical instrument making, Evelien is making a violin in the workshop. She writes:
I have received funding for gouges
to make the violin and funding for the book, The Art of Violin Making by Chris Johnson & Roy Courtnall. In the book the entire process of making a violin is written. So, I will be able to use the book as a support when the school year starts again. I will use the gouges to carve the scroll of my violin.
