Juno Sharrock

Newark

RAB Award 2024:   Juno was awarded a work placement with Phil Brown.

She wrote:  “At PhiIip’s workshop I started by completing two bow rehairs, including sorting the hair – the first took about 2 days and the second just over a day.  Then I started making a bow in bloodwood satine.  I learnt further methods of rehairing at the workshop, they had a different way of tying the hair which was easier.  Though I was hoping to concentrate on repairing, restoring and making bows, it was the first time I had gone through the whole rehairing process.

The RAB Trust were very helpful when I was trying to make arrangements for the work placement, and though my speciality is viols they found a maker for me who makes and restores a lot of baroque bows, which was relevant to me.”

Education Services Award 2024:  Juno was awarded funding for tools and ‘Early English Viols’ by M Fleming
