RAB Award 2025: Daisy was awarded a work placement with bow maker, Stephen Thomson of The Bow Business.
“Going to learn from Stephen was an incredibly useful start to learning bow rehair. We spent plenty of time walking through each of the processes involved and he was very happy to repeat and rephrase any step along the way. While in his workshop I spent the majority of both days practicing two steps over and over again- tying off the hair and fitting wedges. It was really valuable to have the opportunity to repeat these steps multiple times while having someone very experienced on hand to ask about anything I was finding difficult or needed more information about. Stephen was also very generous in setting me up with various jigs and supplies that I needed to continue practicing at home. Visiting him was a fantastic experience and I really feel that I’ve been given a solid start in learning a skill that will be useful throughout my career.” Daisy Muir
