In 2024 Louis applied to the RAB Trust for expenses to go to Bilbao for a special workshop at the Basque School of Violin Making in May 2024.
It was run by Philip Ihle on ‘Considerations and techniques when making a replica violin’.

As well as receiving funds for his expenses on the Bilbao course he was awarded a work placement and funding for tools.
