RAB Award 2018: funding to buy bending iron
RAB Award 2017:
“I was grateful to get money and the British Violin book from RAB trust last year. I am a violin making student now so I need a lot of materials to practice my skill. I made two violins last year and my course for this year is varnish, fitting up the instrument, repairing and restoration, which is my priority for the year. But I can also make another instrument during this time.
I used the money I got to buy a set of wood for making a viola. The progress of my viola is this. I have finished the inside and outside template, rib structure and centre joint for the back. The material I bought is very good quality. The British Violin is also a nice book. There are lots of different instrument models and other various information in the book. I don’t know if I can finish my viola before the end of this year but I will try to do. I also hope I can make a cello or double bass and learn more repairing in the future.”
