The RAB Trust met at Friends House in London for our annual meeting to discuss this year’s applications and make awards to talented and deserving students.
The Trust were sorry to say goodbye to Helen Michetsläger, our Chair for the past few years, and we are very grateful for the very positive changes she has brought about in the Trust. We greeted our new Chair, Libby Summers, a violin maker/restorer and Director of Stamford Strings.
Of the 28 students submitting applications, 23 received awards ranging from work placements and BVMA short courses to funding for tools, wood and books. Many 1st year students applied and we received many more applications than recent years, which bodes well for the trade showing that the colleges are now recovering from the Covid epidemic which hit their intake hard.
