RAB Trust Award Winners Information
Please read this carefully as it contains important information, particularly for those awarded work experience placements.
For all Award Winners
The RAB Trust website, www.rabtrust.org lists all award winners.
Please send photos and information about your work, including a report on your placement directly to chair@rabtrust.org for inclusion on the website.
The website is important for attracting further funding to the RAB Trust, and it also offers free advertising space to students.
Work Experience placements checklist
If you are awarded a placement, it is up to you to contact the maker/shop to arrange the dates. Be flexible about when you can visit, and fit in with them.
If necessary, arrange your accommodation. If you have been awarded expenses for accommodation then you need to find accommodation that fits within the allocated amount of the award or subsidise the accommodation yourself.
Before the placement, discuss with the host workshop the work you will carry out, and ensure that you bring the correct tools and materials, properly sharpened and maintained.
Be punctual and always polite. You are an ambassador for the RAB Trust, and the workshop will offer further placements if you set a good example.
After your placement, please send a ‘thank you’ note or email to your host workshop.
While every effort is made to find placements that will be of benefit to both parties, the terms of any individual placement and its duration are decided between the student and the maker. The student, by embarking on the placement, acknowledges that the Trust shall not be responsible for any aspect of the arrangement or its outcome. The Trust only makes the initial introduction.
The RAB Trust has a safeguarding policy for students on work experience. If you have any queries re safeguarding or would like to see the policy, please contact the RAB administrator info@rabtrust.org. The safeguarding officers are Judith Blackwell 07770 846148 and Luke Lindforth-Delaney 07748948178.
After the placement, please fill in and return the Workshop Placement Feedback Form.
If the RAB Trust has offered expenses, please indicate what your expenses were, and a BACS will be sent on receipt of the completed form. The form must be returned within two months of your placement. Failure to do so will disqualify you from making any further applications to the RAB Trust.
